Dinner with Guru Yana

Salam everyone,

I was able to have dinner with Guru Yana of Perisai Diri yesterday in New York City.  We talked about Pencak Silat for maybe 4 hours and it was a very enlightening experience for me.  Guru Yana is very into the idea of having all the Silat styles in US come together for one big seminar or gathering and I also share his sentiment.  The major problem with this is the obvious fact that there are several separations between Silat groups in the US.  Hopefully we will be able to work that out someday.  I will take some pictures this Saturday as I maybe doing some training with Guru Yana and post them on the web.

That's really great news Nick
By creating a common forum/level of communication between the different styles, it will lead to great understanding and less of an opportunity for con-men or rip-off artists to be able to SUCCESSFULLY sell themselves as authentic gurus with ijaza from a list of masters as long as the telephone book of a small town.
