Earthquake in Jakarta

I just wanted to know if you guys in Java are ok?  I saw video footage
it looked like a pretty strong earthquake.  Anyways, I hope you guys are
alright.

Alhamdulillah, we in Jakarta are all ok. The earthquake was in Bengkulu and West Sumatera. Thanks Nick.

We are all ok in Jakarta .  I was in 29th building when earthquake hit, at about 18-18.30 Jakarta hours. Overall employees (who was still working at night)  at the building was shocked, got panic and rushed to emergency stairs to go down...You can imagine tat situation...and run down by staircase from 30th or even higher floor to the lobby (1st floor) ...

but that's educated experience dealing with nature phenomenon...and how we should respond to...  Buildings in Jakarta, I think, must to strictly install procedure to safe in emergency situation in case of earth quake or fire or anything..

My team was in the 11th floor when the quake struck. Other than the nice swinging, most of us didn't realize the quake was on. Most thought that they're dehydrated or something. Overwork kinda does that to you.

When we realized it was a quake, it was already over. We contemplated violating the safety rules by staying behind and continuing with our work (load tests are icky stuff).

Then a small chip of fell off the ceiling. Okay, that did it. We exercised out butts off eagerly.

So, is it your Mafia hit team, clean up/body disposal team, S.W.A.T. team, surveillance team ... ahh clue :  "load tests are icky" ... Let's see ... network cabling team, building engineer/architectual team, network design & implementation team, network admin team, PABX monitoring team, a team of electricians ... ok I give up
