Salam Everyone,
Just wanted to show you the new logo for the AOPSA. It is in the top left corner of the home page www.aopsa.com. Please let me know what you think?

Nice logo...
Would you like to explain about the meaning of philosophy this logo? for example; form (kris), colours and typography (font type)...
If you don't mind, just input from me:
- principle of design (form follow the function)
- there is character of object (general Pencak Silat, absolutely)
- useful in all media, likes shirt, sticker, letter head, name card, etc...
(IMHO) just simple direction using "what to say and how to say"

:)No worries - you can never ask too many questions - bagus!
I chose the colors Red White to highlight the PS for Pencak Silat in honor of the colors of the Indonesian flag. I chose the kris, instead of a kujang or clurit, because i think it is one of the only weapons that seems to encompass most Pencak Silat styles as well as Malay culture. I chose to point the kris down, instead of horizontal or up, because my teacher in Java once told me there logo points down to represent the fact that we are all mortal and will one day pass. I chose to use just the letters AOPSA(with kris)so the logo is small and will hopefully be recognizeable - which also makes it easier for designs on t-shirts etc... The font has no significance. Hope this answers most of your questions. Please tell me your thoughts?

Thank's for your generous opinion. I'd like to apply sugestion and opinion in the future.
Generally, your logo is nice and reasonable, specially for me. Can you give me an idea about put a little bit an American Pencak Silat style on your logo.

I think i understand your suggestion - saya pekir ??? :) I think you are suggesting to put elements of American Silat or culture into the logo. I actually thought of putting the American flag into the font letters AO´PS´A, except for the PS being just red with white border. As far as adding elements of quote `America´ Silat ´- i dont know. Sure there are styles of Silat that have been mixed or rearranged but I don´t really think Silat is American in any way. The logo will probably change over the years as the association grows but unfortunately it was expensive to make and not easily changed. thank you for the suggestion though i will take it to heart for future designs.
