So this whole school of Muslim Wing Chun that you were talking about is entirely founded and based in malaysia?
I don't know anything about the Malaysian Wing Chun ... however it is certainly plausible that a Wing Chun branch had
migrated to Malaysia, and also that an off-shoot could be
founded there as well. Chinese can be found throughout South East Asia. I suspect that a DNA investigativce trail would find a Sino DNA strain through most asians ...
I read somewhere that Wing Chun is one of the most widely used MA's to be used as a base for some other MA ... so technically, a style of Wing Chun could be founded anywhere
.
Same goes for silat I guess. Silat Pertempuran is a case in point, it was founded in the US by Sean Stark. Same goes for many of the other US off-shoots.
The bottom line is that we all have similar nervous systems, skeleton, muscle structure, body core etc .. so once the principles of movement (for any particular art or style) have been aquired and internalised, it can be built upon or used by the individual who has truly internalised the principles of movement ... that epiphany can then lead to inspiration and therein lies the ART, which you can call anything you like.
However the problem exists that an individual might
think they've internalised the principles ... when they haven't ... hehe, and then we have McSilat, or McWingChun etc. etc.
