Kie Lin is a mythical animal from Chinese mythology used by the Japanese as a trademark for a beer  :D.

It is made up of several different animals, and is considered the most sacred, higher than the dragon and the barongsai. In PGB we are proud to be totally accepted by the Indonesian society while at the same time we are the keepers of the most respected animal in Chinese celebrations ... Below is a copy-paste from KOMPAS some years back... but the reporter got it mixed up and the story is not so well written but it will give you an idea. It is not the Liong that is older, but the Kie Lin.

When Cheng Ho sailed the seas with his armada and brought back a girrafe from Africa, the Emperor thought that it was a Kie Lin.  This was one of the reasons why the expeditions were halted. ... (I read a book I think called "1421" about this)

Salam hangat,
Bram

Kie Lin Tunggangan Para Dewa
Kompas, 31 Januari 2003

Cuma, memang berbeda, tambah Peter.

"Kalau dibuat sendiri biayanya hanya sekitar Rp 1,5 juta sampai Rp 3 juta saja. Tetapi, kalau beli, ya bisa sampai Rp 10 juta," jelas Peter.

"Tetapi, kalau beli Kie Lin impor harganya bisa sampai Rp 20 juta-an.

Dear Forum Members,

It is with a heavy heart I saw the following:

For the forseeable future, I will not be posting on this forum, or any other forums for that matter.  With the start of the new school semester, work, training time and the need I have to promote our Detroit PCP school, for now, I'm electing to cut out internet posting activity.  As I'm sure some of you can understand, it can be very time consuming.  And as such, I choose to channel my energies elsewhere for the time being.

I've learned a lot from this forum and this is not to say that I won't be back or drop in from time to time.  But, I will no longer be an active participant as I have been in the recent past.

Warm regards,
Michael

Hello Everyone

I'm also along with Michael, will be leaving this forum. I came on here to defend someone who was a close friend. During that time I had hope things would have got better and bridges could be built and was prepared to hang on. After seeing a number of emails that were sent around in the private mail, I see now that the bridge building that was on the public forum was only lip service, and the hatred and malice was still going on at the exact same time, from the same people who were its seems now pretending to build friendship, but instead were waiting to gather up more info from me and other PCP players to once again attack my close friend Mr Sanders.

Since I no longer feel, nothing can be gain, no matter how much I would wish for it, I'm no longer will give my time in afruitless cause.

My best wishes to the members who did truely offer friendship and wish the forum the very best for the future. I'm of now to do battle with megatron, as he also been busy. Hopefully maybe at some time in the future, when friendship can truely blossom, maybe some of us will come back.

Best of luck

Optimus

I am on board with Optimus and Micheal . I tried very hard to keep this thread on a positive dialog and find myself defending even that idea  now . I also recieved the private email about  perhaps starting the same thing all over again from the same person . Others here I am sure will continue  the positive training tips thread . ::) Thank you to those who actualy engaged in the positve dialog .

I respect your decision, although I'm not happy to see you all leave,
I like to add that my personal view towards PCP and his active members on this forum has been changed since you people have been in debate with us [top]

Guys! Is this some kind of staged PCP withdrawal?

Just when things were beginning to improve! I for one had certainly seen a new level of understanding........OK some things will never be agreed upon, but even to disagree on a more civil level is an improvement.

I can perhaps understand why you guys believe you a flogging a proverbial dead horse. However, the internet at times is a very false and impersonal medium for communication. It's easy to get bogged down in minute details and overanalyse what is written. It's easy to misinterpret a remark not thought through, or clumsily put. I often take it all with a pinch of garam ???

For good or bad, you guys have had the chance to put foreward your views.....again and again and again...... ;)

Also, have you ever thought that many do not respond in posts not out of negativity or apathy, but because they don't want to get dragged into yet another controversial thread?

There also seems to be some kind of misconception that everyone has to be on one 'side' or another! I am sure most are not. As for myself, I do not have a 'side' and try to mantain an objective stance. Of course I have opinions, but it is not my place to pass judgement.

So, if you guys do decide to retreat, I wish you all the best :)

On a personal note, I would like to thank one particular member of PCP for supplying me with an elusive DVD featuring the head of the system I study. It appeared that aside from his PCP training we had a little silat in common :) So a big thankyou- you know who you are :)

Peace

Martin

Oh dear!

I suppose I am the culprit who sent personal messages to Optimus Prime, Michael Lee and Mantis. I was responding to an often changing article on Sanders' website ( http://www.cimande.com/writings/keris/article.htm ) which directly refers to me in a way that I though was 'negative' - to use a PCP word. So I made comments on Sanders' article and PMed it to the three gentlemen above. Michael thanked me for it and said that he would get back to me in one or two days.

Tomorrow will be the second day, and I sincerely hope that Michael comes back with Sanders' response. I thought that after the positive dialogue that has been happening, it would be nice if I addressed my concerns about directly to the PCP people before it I made them public, as in the past they seemed to have not liked the fact that I would make comments public rather than contacting them privately. So I am rather surprised that now that I play the game according to the rules they asked for, they decide to withdraw.

I am sure that they will still be reading posts here, so I will wait an other day before I post the PM that upset them. I would like everyone to know that I am / was never looking for information to bring them down. Quite the opposite, I seek to lift them up.

Warm regards to all,
Ranggalana.

I see what you write and I also saw how you communicated whit our PCP friends on the other forum.
This was indeed going into a positive direction

But our friends made there conclusion on your PM, this is done and we cannot reverse it anymore
I hope with your explanation they will think again about there decision.

I think this also answers your PM to me Bram.

regards Eric

Optimus

Guru Besar Liam McDonald, Mantis a.k.a Josh, Michael Lee...

I sent you the PM so that you would have time to answer the questions that arrise when one reads the evolving article on keris written by Sanders on his site ( http://www.cimande.com/writings/keris/article.htm ). Anyone reading that article can testify to the tone of hatred directed to me by Sanders there.

In the past you have complained me bringing issues to the public before consulting you in private, and that was what I was doing with the PM. Nothing to do with hatred at all.

Michael Lee has told me that his leaving has nothing to do with the posts on this forum, but I can tell you that the above article by Sanders has. Michael is burdened by the job of opening a new PCP school in Detroit and I would like to invite all forum members here to wich him a great success.

Salam hangat semuanya,
Bram

Greetings Michael

I’m really disappointed to see these attributes seen here from PCP members or Indonesian language “anak PCP”. One would think that all this is being staged or a game of “Simon says”.

You have informed me via email and the reasons why. Nevertheless, I will still encourage you and the others to utilize this forum as platform to gain knowledge. Just like I did and guess what I’m so happy to find the history behind the relationships between Majapahit and Sumenep.

As for the translation of the above article, I do not believe in spoon feeding. For me knowledge gain the hard way is always the best and being appreciated. My suggestion to you is to try learning the Indonesian language and scope the key words. On my part and hopefully others will help correct your understandings.

Kind regards,
HanaChu69
