Dear Pesilat-pesilat,

For some interesting video's concerning a Pencak Silat style located in the Netherlands, please check youtube and typ: Pencak Silat Panca Sila.

Do you agree? I am dazzled by their effluvium.

Dear Mas Indovincible,

Your style Pencak Silat Panca Sila look very interesting. Smooth, flowing, yet efficient.
How did it originate?
From the movements, they look very Javanese, in contrast with Sundanese or Minang silat.

@ Indovincible: can you tel me who you are in real life ?
are you a member of the Panca Sila school ??

I know the Panca Sila schools, the teacher and a lot of members from that organisation.
Maybe it is nice to tell the other members on this forum something more about the backgrounds of this school
And dont forget to put something in our guest book, a little introduction about yourself.

Yes, studying a style of Javanese origin and from my experiences in mainly East Jawa, I find this movement much more familiar than Sunda & Minang styles. It's very nice to see :)

Certainly in the West it sometimes seems that there is only Minangkabau or Sundanese silat.

So Indovincible, do we guess correctly?

Dear Eric B and other friends who replied on my "Panca Sila" comment,

First, many thanks for your comments. I train Pencak Silat since i was 5 years old with my family who are from Jawa. When i was 10 years old, i started to train also at the Panca Sila school in Maastricht which is a combined style school. Now, i am an instructor at the school and many things have changed. We started to work intensively with other brother schools, like the Naga, Satria Gaya from the Netherlands. Our goal is to keep our style well formed and more developed.

However, many criticisms have been made against our school since our name is rather controversial to be used as a style name. Yet, i believe a name is not anything. We strive in combining efficient and graceful techniques in our style and hope to improve ourselves every day. In sum, our main focus is on continuouslsy improving our style and keeping the asli always in mind. Please also check our new vids on the Pasar Malam Besar, The Hague 2008. Hope to hear from you soon.
