Silat Langka Baru

While going through some of my stuff that I have acquired over the years, I ran across a manuscript that I received from a pesilat who said he was teaching a system called Langka Baru silat.. I have lost contact with this pesilat, but the interest in the authenticity of this system is still there and my research has dried up..

The purpose of this request is to find some information on whether it is a viable system or was this another system that came out of the jungles of southeast asia?

If he says it is called Langka Baru it probably means that a) He is not Indonesian, as the Indonesian word would be Langkah, with a heavy h at the end, and b) it is a new silat as Langkah Baru means New Step(s).

Well, it's a malaysian system, for crying out loud. For certain he's not Indonesian.

Are we still in the "not talking about anything maling-sian" here?

Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunnei aren't this all country's where Pencak Silat systems are developped

I think people get confused,
Langkah (with H) Baru is a silat school based in Gladstone, in central-nothern part Queensland- Australia.
It is definitely of Indonesian root. As far as I heard, the seniors (or the founder?) used to train Perisai Diri in Brisbane.

I agree with with kang Eric , the Indonesian should not adopt a holier-than-thou attitude toward Malaysia (or any other) with regard to Silat. All puak Melayu (and now everybody) have exactly the same right to claim as the inheritor of Silat.
